EAST STROUDSBURG – The East Stroudsburg University women's soccer team announced that two transfers, Aimee Maher and Sarah Miscevich will join the team for the upcoming 2023 season.

Maher joins ESU from Hutchison Community College, while Miscevich spent her freshman season at Mount Saint Mary.

Maher spent two years at Hutchinson Community College in Hutchinson, Kansas under the direction of head coach Sammy Lane. Over her two years of competition, Maher was named all-conference twice and tabbed an Academic All-American. After a first-half 20-minute hat trick en route to a 6-0 team victory, Maher garnered KJCCC Division I Player of the Week honors.

"I am so happy to be here because ever since the first week of being here, all the girls have been so welcoming," said Maher of her new soccer family. "I love that everyone works together for the team and encourages each other on and off the pitch. I have already made so many friendships that make this place feel like my home away from home!"

Head coach Rob Berkowitz spoke highly of Maher. "We're excited to welcome Aimee to the women's soccer program," Berkowitz said of Maher. "Aimee has been a great addition to the program this spring. Her work ethic, athleticism, and understanding of the game should translate very well in the fall in the PSAC. Her experience and success at a high junior college level will serve her and the team well for the upcoming season."

Miscevich spent her first year at Mount Saint Mary's, making four appearances during her freshman campaign. At ESU, she will continue to major in exercise science, with the hopes of becoming an Occupational Therapist. During her career at Middletown High School, Miscevich was a three-time consecutive All-Star and recipient of the Mid Penn Sportsmanship Award. She also captained her team to a district playoff berth.

Miscevich noted, "I wanted a change of environment and ESU has such a great team with great girls and it already feels like home! Since I've gotten here, the academics have been the challenge I wanted, and the team environment has been exactly what I was looking for. I am so excited to begin the new soccer season in the fall!"

Berkowitz also spoke about what Miscevich adds to the team: "Sarah is a player that we heavily recruited out of high school, and we are excited to welcome her to ESU from Mount St. Mary's. She has been a nice addition this spring. Her high level of technical ability and Division I experience will add a different element to an already deep talented midfield."

Maher and Miscevich join a Warrior team looking to build on their last season, in which they returned to the PSAC Tournament, but ultimately fell to eventual national finalist West Chester, 2-1.
