Four Warriors Take First Place, No. 18 ESU Posts Impressive Performance at Will Abele Open

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Highlighted by four individual champions and 13 Warriors that placed in the top six, the No. 18 East Stroudsburg University women's wrestling team impressed at the Will Abele Open on Sunday at Ursinus College.
 
Olivia Klein (101), No. 9 Mia Macaluso (123), No. 10 Zoe Gress (130) and Jade Huerta (170) all went undefeated on the day to capture individual titles. Earning runner-up honors were Tiana Savino (109), Natalie Dunn (116) and Gianna Amendola (136). Ruth Anash (3rd, 136) rounded out the Warriors who finished in the top three of their individual weight classes.
 
Warriors that placed fourth through sixth include: Jackeline Ramos-Oviedo  (4th, 123), Paityn DeLong (4th, 155) Kali Shifflett (4th, 191), Isabella Washington-Vasquez (5th, 116) and Waverly KaneLong (6th, 123).
 
The open had no team scoring, but ESU led the invitational with 55 points based on its 13 Warriors that placed. ESU finished ahead of second place Elmira (39 pts) among the 22-team field.
 
ESU combined for a 52-31 record among its 22 representatives.
