SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The No. 2 East Stroudsburg University field hockey team fell in overtime to No. 1 Shippensburg at Robb Sports Complex Sunday afternoon.
The Warriors (16-4) and Raiders (18-1) played a back-and-forth game, with the host team breaking the 0-0 tie 6:56 into overtime.
Notables
• Jet Vermeulen, Sydney Pope, and the ESU defense once again allowed zero goals in regulation. This marks the eighth time this season.
• The Warriors' offense created good opportunities on goal, but Raiders' goalie Emma Albee denied those chances.
• As the score indicates, it was a close match, with Shippensburg holding the advantage in shots (11-9) and penalty corners (6-5).
• In the last three games between these two teams, two went to overtime, and all three ended with a one-score difference.
