MANSFIELD, Pa. - The East Stroudsburg University women's soccer team secured a 1-0 shutout victory against Mansfield (0-7-0 overall, 0-5-0 conference) on October 4. The win advanced the Warriors' record to 4-2-3 overall and 3-2-3 in conference play. ESU dominated the pitch from start to finish, holding a decisive advantage in total shots (31-1) and corner kicks (14-0).

Jade Wiley provided the necessary offense, scoring the lone goal of the match late in the second half.
The goal, which was unassisted, was Wiley's fifth of the season. Wiley is a proven threat, with four game-winning goals already this season.
The ESU defense was nearly impenetrable, allowing the Mountaineers only one total shot throughout the entire 90 minutes.

The Warriors immediately established control, firing 12 shots and tallying 5 corner kicks in the first period alone. ESU forced Mansfield's keeper to make four saves in the first half, stopping shots from
McKenna Chisholm, Kiley Kondruski, and
Kaitlyn Thatcher. Despite the heavy pressure, the game remained scoreless at the end of the first period.
The offensive attack intensified in the second half, with the Warriors logging an additional 19 shots and 9 corner kicks. ESU continued to test Esterline, who registered seven saves in the second half. Shots on goal by
Jade Wiley at 48:11 and 74:10 were denied, as were attempts by

The persistent effort finally paid off in the 81st minute. At 80:12, Wiley broke the deadlock with an unassisted goal, her fifth of the season, putting ESU ahead 1-0. The final minutes saw the Warriors secure three more corner kicks before running out the clock for the decisive 1-0 final score.
