EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. — The first weekly rankings for the NCAA women's wrestling season released Nov. 13, with the team coming in at ninth in Division II with three Warriors earning national rankings and eight ranking in the top 10 for Region 2.
As a team, ESU finished the rankings in first place for its region with 74 total points, finishing ahead of Gannon with 61 and Eastern with 49. The Warriors moved up a spot in the national rankings from the preseason rankings, now coming in at ninth in Division II.
The national rankings were highlighted by Tiffany Baublitz,
Teegan Sibble, and
Ragan Retell. Baublitz was ranked second in the 160-pound weight class, Sibble eighth in the 110-pound weight class, and Retell ninth in the 138-pound weight class. All three wrestlers were ranked first in their respective region weight class rankings.
Five other Warriors earned regional rankings after their performances to start the season, led by
Olivia Klein with a second-place ranking in the 103-pound weight class. Four more Warriors earned fourth-place regional rankings, with Yiana Foufas in the 117-pound weight class,
Olivia Palmer in the 124-pound weight class,
Gianna Amendola in the 131-pound weight class, and
Selina Moore in the 145-pound weight class.
The Warriors are back on the mat this weekend when they travel for the Albion Open on Sunday, Nov. 16 in Albion, Mich.
