Preview: Women’s Basketball Back in Action with Tuesday Trip to Clarion

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. -- The East Stroudsburg women's basketball team resumes play after a 10-day break, traveling to face Clarion on Tuesday, December 16. Tipoff is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. inside Waldo S. Tippin Gymnasium.

NOTES
  • After a 10-day break, East Stroudsburg returns to action against Clarion on the road on Tuesday, December 16 at 3:00 p.m. 
  • Consecutive starters for the Warriors have been Lacie Kringe, Avery WhiteBrooke Droege, and Brie Droege
  • Brooke Droege was named the PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Week on Nov. 18 after she combined eight steals, three blocks, 15 rebounds, 35 points, and averaged 37 minutes a game over the weekend.   
  • The Warriors are averaging 65.0 PPG, 39.3 RPG, 16.3 APG, 12.9 SPG, and are shooting 38.6% from the field.   
  • Both Avery White and Brie Droege have recorded one game with 20+ points, while White scored a high of 24 points against Staten Island on Nov. 22. 
  • Leading the team in steals is Jess Devine with 20. She has led the team four times this season and has posted three games with four or more steals. 
  • These teams met last season on Dec. 8, 2023, in Clarion, when the Warriors defeated the Golden Eagles, 50-46. 
  • Leading the Warriors in their matchup against the Griffins was Lacie Kringe who posted 17 points, nine rebounds, four assists, and two steals.  
  • The Warriors have won the past six meetings, dating back to 2014.  
  • Clarion enters the game with a 6-1 overall record and is 1-0 in conference action. The Golden Eagles opened their season undefeated, going on a 6-0 run until they dropped their most recent matchup against Felician on Dec. 10.  
  • The Griffins average 80.9 PPG and only allow 68.0 PPG. They're shooting 39.8% from the field, 31.7% beyond the arc, and 72.2% from the free throw line. 
  • In their first game of the season, the Golden Eagles surpassed 90 points in their 96-68 win over Livingstone on Nov. 14. Clarion has recorded two more games that they have scored over 80 points.  
  • The top scorer for the Golden Eagles is Zoe Guice who averages 18.1 PPG and is currently ranked third in the conference. She has scored 20+ points on three occasions this season and recently recorded a high of 26 points against Felician.  
  • Guice also leads the league in steals (33) and has recorded five steals in each of the first five games of the season. 
  • Leading the team in rebounds is Alyssa Terza who averages 8.4 per game. She has recorded four games with 10+ rebounds and posted a high of 15 rebounds against Roberts Wesleyan. 
  • Zoe Bayer was named the PSAC West Defensive Athlete of the Week on Dec. 8 after she averaged 18 points, five assists, and 6.5 steals through two games.
