SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The East Stroudsburg University women's tennis team continued its dominant run through the PSAC East, blanking Shippensburg 7-0 on Monday afternoon. With the victory, the Warriors tied the program record for most wins in a single season, matching the 14-win mark set in 2009-10 when ESU made its NCAA First Round appearance.
Following today's result, the Warriors improve to 14-5 overall and 3-0 in PSAC East play, while the Raiders fall to 6-10 (0-2 PSAC East).
How it Happened in Doubles
At No. 1 doubles, the European duo of
Marketa Beladova and
Louise Boyer-Vidal cruised to a 6-1 win over Corinne Markovich and Yasmin De Meyer.
In the No. 2 spot,
Lea Stefanovic and
Ariel Kelsick delivered a flawless 6-0 sweep against Brooklynn Rupert and Jade Miller.
The Spanish pairing of
Claudia Ermina and
Bega Gotor sealed the doubles point with a 6-2 win over Ava Kalist and Kendall Winters.
