Warriors Tie Program Record for Wins in a Season with Sweep Over Shippensburg

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The East Stroudsburg University women's tennis team continued its dominant run through the PSAC East, blanking Shippensburg 7-0 on Monday afternoon. With the victory, the Warriors tied the program record for most wins in a single season, matching the 14-win mark set in 2009-10 when ESU made its NCAA First Round appearance.

Following today's result, the Warriors improve to 14-5 overall and 3-0 in PSAC East play, while the Raiders fall to 6-10 (0-2 PSAC East).

How it Happened in Doubles
At No. 1 doubles, the European duo of Marketa Beladova and Louise Boyer-Vidal cruised to a 6-1 win over Corinne Markovich and Yasmin De Meyer.

In the No. 2 spot, Lea Stefanovic and Ariel Kelsick delivered a flawless 6-0 sweep against Brooklynn Rupert and Jade Miller.

The Spanish pairing of Claudia Ermina and Bega Gotor sealed the doubles point with a 6-2 win over Ava Kalist and Kendall Winters.

How it Happened in Singles
No. 1: Marketa Beladova continued her stellar form, dispatching Corinne Markovich 6-0, 6-1.

No. 2: Lea Stefanovic powered past Yasmin De Meyer 6-0, 6-1.

No. 3: France's Louise Boyer-Vidal earned a solid 6-2, 6-3 win over Jade Miller.

No. 4: Ariel Kelsick recorded her 12th consecutive singles win, shutting out Rachel Gallagher 6-0, 6-0.

No. 5: Gianina Speranza dominated the first set and held on in the second to defeat Brooklynn Rupert 6-0, 6-4.

No. 6: Bega Gotor closed out the match with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Brinley Orris.
