Warriors Earn Shutout Win over Marauders

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. — Women's volleyball earned a 3-0 shutout over Millersville on Saturday afternoon. Set scores were 25-14, 25-19, and 25-19. The team improves to 7-2 in conference play and 14-7 on the season.

Jadyn Orava earned the most kills of any player across both teams with 15. Next for the Warriors was KiLee Kuhlman, tallying seven, and Kailynn Dupre with five. Leading the way in assists was Kyra Bishop, totaling 25 throughout the three sets.

Set 1: ESU jumped to an early lead and gave the Marauders a chance to catch up. With two separate stretches of five or more points in a row, one being a seven-point streak to put the Warriors up 20-8, ESU took a comfortable 25-14 win in the first set.

Set 2: Millersville put up a stronger fight in the second set, keeping the score even at 5-5 until the Warriors went on a four-point streak. After going down seven, a 7-1 run put the Marauders just one point behind ESU before a KiLee Kuhlman kill eliminated Millersville's momentum. The Warriors continued to answer by going 5-1 to close out the second set, 25-19.

Set 3: For the first time in the match, Millersville took the lead, being up 2-1 early in the final set. Short runs from both teams kept them close for much of the early going, following all the way to 12-11 with ESU up. After this point, the Warriors went on a hot streak sparked by a kill from Rylee Ruggiero, scoring seven times to take a 19-13 lead. Though the Marauders tried to mount a comeback, ESU's attack kept up before a ball handling error sealed the third set, 25-19.
