LOCK HAVEN, Pa. -- East Stroudsburg University sophomore Sarah Williams earned her first career PSAC Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week honor, released by the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Tuesday afternoon.

In the highly competitive Women's Gold Race 6K at the Lehigh Paul Short Run on Friday, Williams finished in the top half of the field with a season-best time of 22:32.5. She placed 141st out of 315 runners who crossed the finish line.

Williams has now led the Warriors in each of the team's first two meets of the season. ESU was one of just two Division II teams with runners competing in the Gold Race, which featured 35 Division I teams.

Williams shaved 10 seconds off her time from the season opener at the WSSU Rams Atlantic Preview on Sept. 25, where she finished in 22:42.9.
