PREVIEW: Women's Basketball Travels to Top-Seeded Bald Eagles

EAST STROUDSBURG NOTES     

  • The Warriors travel to Lock Haven to face the Bald Eagles on Wednesday, February 18 at 5:30 p.m. 
  • The ESU women's basketball team enters the matchup 16-9 overall and 11-7 in conference action.          
  • This past week, the Warriors have clinched a spot in the PSAC Tournament with wins over Mansfield and Shippensburg. 
  • The Warriors won four of their past five matchups, with their lone loss coming against Shepherd.  
  • They scored a season-high 95 points in a 95-72 victory over Mansfield on Wednesday evening.  This marked their highest scoring game under second-year head coach Liz Flooks, surpassing their previous high of 87 points set in November 2024. ESU is one of six schools to score 95 or more points in a single game.  
  • ESU shot 50.9% from the field against Bloomsburg, their highest field-goal percentage of the season.   
  • In the PSAC standings, ESU sits in third place behind Lock Haven (18-5, 14-3) and Kutztown (15-9, 11-6).  
  • Consecutive starters for the Warriors have been Lacie KringeAvery WhiteBrie Droege, and Caitlin Marten.     
  • Against PSAC opponents, the Warriors average 68.7 PPG, 36.8 RPG, 14.1 APG, 10.3 SPG, and have shot 42.0% from the field. 
  • ESU has been most productive after halftime, averaging 35.5 points in the second half compared to 31.1 in the opening half. Opponent production has been highest in the fourth quarter, where the Warriors allow 17.2 points per game. 
  • Brie paces the Warriors with 15.5 points per game, ranking her seventh in the PSAC in PPG. She has led the team in scoring 13 times this season and five times in rebounds.   
  • Brie has been an efficient scorer for the Warriors, making 46.1% of her shot attempts from the field. That figure is the 10th best in the conference. She also ranks fifth in free throw percentage, making 60 of 68 attempts.      
  • The Warriors are fourth in the PSAC in turnover margin (+3.64) and fifth in steals per game (10.68). Jess Devine leads ESU in steals per game, averaging 2.2, the ninth-most in the PSAC.         
  • After a career-high 15 rebounds against Shepherd, Marten now ranks 24th in the PSAC at 5.8 rebounds per game, while Droege is second on the team at 5.5 RPG. 
  • White ranks second on the team and 24th in the PSAC in scoring at 12.1 points per game. She has scored at least 15 points in each of the last seven games and has surpassed 20 points twice this season. 
  • Brooke Droege also averages 12.1 points per game and grabs 4.8 rebounds per game.
  • White and Kringe rank 11th and 13th, respectively, in assists per game in the conference, while Devine ranks 16th at 3.0 assists per contest. 

LOCK HAVEN NOTES   

  • The Bald Eagles enter the contest with an 18-5 overall record and 14-3 conference record, sitting in first place in the Eastern Division of the PSAC. 
  • The Bald Eagles are on a 12-game win streak with their last loss coming against No. 5 Gannon on January 3.  
  • They are coming off a dominant 75-51 win over the Millersville Marauders on Saturday. Madeline Evans recorded her 19th double-double of the season with 14 rebounds and 12 points. The top scorer for the Marauders was Alana Robinson with 18 points, while Jenadia Jordan followed with 16. 
  • Lock Haven averages 71.2 PPG, 42.9 RPG, 14.8 APG, 8.5 SPG, and has shot 41.0% from the field. 
  • The Bald Eagles feature four players averaging more than 10.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per game. 
  • Alana Robinson leads the team and ranks 10th in the PSAC, averaging 15.1 points per game. She scored a career-high 31 points against the Mansfield Mountaineers on February 4 and has topped 20 points five times this season. She also leads the team in both blocks (49) and steals (59). 
  • Evans ranks 11th in the PSAC with 14.7 points per game and has scored in double figures in 20 of 23 games this season. She leads the conference in rebounding at 13.0 per game and has totaled 107 offensive rebounds. 
  • Lock Haven's scoring offense and scoring defense both rank fourth in the conference, as they limit opponents to just 57.3 points per game. 
  • The Bald Eagles lead the PSAC in rebounds per game (42.9) and rebound margin (+15.0). 
  • Jordan leads the conference in assists, averaging 5.5 per game 
  • Evans, Robinson, and Jordan have combined for 10 PSAC Athlete of the Week honors so far this season. 
  • Robinson, Evans, Jordan, and Rhlyn Rouse have started all 23 games for the Bald Eagles this year.

  • ESU is 43-26 all-time against Lock Haven and 18-14 on the road. 
  • The Bald Eagles won the most recent meeting, defeating the Warriors 76-47 on Jan. 21, 2026.
