Warriors Prevail in Nailbiter for Third-Straight Win

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – With the score tied 3-3, Bega Gotor clinched the 4-3 victory over Moravian for the Warriors on Sunday afternoon. This win marks three in a row, putting ESU at 5-3 on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The duo of Theresa Bauer and Lea Stefanovic opened doubles play with a win for the Warriors. However, ESU wasn't as fortunate in the following two matches, dropping both and losing out on the point.

The bad luck continued as Audrey Conover retired from her match after a loss in the first set. Things started to look up from here as Alice Ehrenlechner swept her match, going 6-1 in both sets. Stefanovic followed as she held on in a super tiebreaker, winning it 10-6. Bauer tried to keep the streak going for the Warriors, but her efforts fell short. Nia Vivas Montoya got the team back on track with a 6-0 sweep in both of her sets to tie the overall score. The win came down to Gotor in the No. 6 match. After winning the first set 6-4, she used that momentum to deliver a dominant 6-1 set that secured the second victory of the spring season for ESU.

UP NEXT
The team will look to continue its win streak as the Warriors head down to Orlando, Fla. for their next four matches, the first being against Winona State on March 8th.
