East Stroudsburg University created the Athletic Hall of Fame in 1978 to celebrate former students' athletic achievements during their years at ESU and afterward.
Nominate a candidate for the Hall of Fame

* Head Coach
* Trainer
* Assistant Coach
* Equipment Manager
* Any other individual (non-athlete) who has made a significant contribution to East Stroudsburg University athletics.
2. Requisites for Selection
STUDENT-ATHLETE
1. Must be an alumnus of East Stroudsburg University or have left the university for a serious reason which is not detrimental to the image of East Stroudsburg University
2. Must have graduated (or left) at least ten (10) years prior to selection to the Athletic Hall of Fame.
3. May be either living or deceased.
4. Must have significantly contributed to and/or demonstrated athletic excellence during his/her career at East Stroudsburg University.
5. The sport must have competed on the varsity level for at least one season during the individual's period of contribution.
TEAM
1. Must have demonstrated an unusually high degree of success during any given season.
2. Must have competed at least ten (10) years prior to selection.
3. Meritorious Service
HEAD COACH
1. Must have demonstrated an unusually high degree of success, relative to the sport coached.
2. Should have achieved a won/loss record which is viewed as highly successful by his or her peers.
3. Preferably, has coached the same sport for more than one full season and has not left the sport of East Stroudsburg University for reasons detrimental to the image of East Stroudsburg University.
4. Must have left the coaching position at least ten (10) years prior to selection to the Athletic Hall of Fame but may still be currently employed at East Stroudsburg University in a non coaching position.
5. May be either living or deceased.
OTHER MERITORIOUS SERVICE RECIPIENTS (Trainer, Assistant Coach, Equipment Manager, etc)
1. Must have demonstrated a strong and preferably unique interest in East Stroudsburg University.
2. Individual must have made a positive and significant impact on the Athletic Department.
3. Long periods of support and service to the Athletic Department.
4. Severe disability or death, as a result of athletic participation.
3. The Awards
1. Member's name, sport and years of participation will be permanently and prominently displayed in the Koehler Fieldhouse until a more suitable location is created.
2. Each individual or, if deceased, the appropriate next of kin or friend, will receive the plaque. The plaque will be annotated with the following:
1. Individual's name.
2. Date presented.
3. Presented by East Stroudsburg University.
4. The recipient and guest will be invited to participate in the Athletic Hall of Fame Banquet so designated by the committee.
4. Presentation of the Awards
Awards will be presented at one or more of the following events:
1. During the intermission at the appropriate sporting event.
2. At the Athletic Hall of Fame Banquet
3. Any other appropriate function.
5. Membership of the Selection Committee
1. The committee will be created annually.
2. People may be reassigned to the committee each year.
3. The selection committee may consist of:
1. Two ESU coaches representing one male and one female sport, as designated by the Athletic Director.
2. A variety of athletic Alumni representing a different decade.
3. One representative from the local sports media, as designated by the Athletic Director.
4. Alumni Director and Sports Information Director
5. The committee to be chaired by the Athletic Director who may vote only when a tie-breaking vote is necessary.
6. Nomination Procedures
1. Nominations, in writing, may be submitted by anyone to the Athletic or Sports Information Director.
All nominations should detail the nominee's accomplishments and any other important information. Nominations must be received in the Athletic Department office or postmarked no later than May 15th of the current year. Nomination procedures and requisites for the Athletic Hall of Fame should be publicized in the Alumni publications, ESU Athletic web page and any other appropriate publications, well in advance.
7. Selection Procedures
1. The Selection Committee will meet as soon as possible after the nomination closing date.
2. The committee should strive for full attendance at their meetings. However, a quorum must exist to vote nominees into the Hall of Fame.
3. The committee may use any voting or eliminating process it deems appropriate, subject to approval of the Athletic Director.
