Warriors Athletic Club - NCAA Compliance Statement
NCAA Compliance Statement
One of the important foundations of the East Stroudsburg University athletic program is the devoted and passionate Warrior fans who support our teams. ESU athletics sincerely appreciates your interest, which stimulates and encourages our student athletes and energizes our university. We must be cautious, however, not to let enthusiasm for athletics lead us to conflict with the very specific rules and regulations of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) or the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC). By NCAA definition an “athletic representative” is any individual who is a member of an East Stroudsburg University booster club, has made contributions to the booster club or the athletic department, or is involved in any way in promoting the athletic program. An athletic representative is prohibited from providing student athletes with any “extra benefits.” Examples of extra benefits include the provision of cash or loans, transportation, meals, clothes, housing, entertainment, gifts, and any other benefit offered to a student athlete.
As a member of the NCAA, East Stroudsburg University is responsible for institutionally controlling its athletic program. We are committed to developing competitive teams with goals that are consistent with the mission of ESU while maintaining the kind of responsible program in which we all take pride. Under this principle, the university is held accountable for the actions of all athletic representatives. East Stroudsburg University sincerely appreciates your strong support of the athletic program, and we are grateful for all that you have done to help our student-athletes become the best Warriors they can be. If you have any questions regarding NCAA rules and regulations, please contact our athletic office at (570) 422-3642. ESU appreciates your cooperation in assisting us with our NCAA compliance program.
