2025 Season Highlights: Resilience, range, and racing grit defined
Liam Hansberry’s 2025 season as a rising force in East Stroudsburg’s middle-distance and steeplechase crew. Known for his ability to tackle a wide variety of distances across indoor and outdoor competition, Liam turned in reliable performances and continued to build momentum with every outing.
He began the outdoor season with a bang, finishing 4th in the 3000m steeplechase at the Monmouth Season Opener in 9:45.46, a standout mark that positioned him as a serious contender in the event. His follow-up at PSAC Outdoor Championships saw him clock 10:06.96, earning 16th place in a stacked field. In the 1500m, Liam recorded a personal best of 4:21.15 at WCU Last Chance, placing 8th.
Indoor track was equally productive. Liam scored a 3rd place finish in the mile (4:43.31) at DeSchriver, and helped secure 2nd in the Distance Medley Relay with a combined team time of 10:56.98. He also competed in the 5000m, placing 16th at SPIRE (15:50.51) and 13th at Gulden Invitational (16:20.24).
Background: Ran cross country and track at Parsippany High School … five-time team captain … named to the 2022-23 Morris County All-County Team for indoor track … helped the Red Hawks capture three outdoor track N2G2 sectional titles, three Liberty Division championships, one outdoor track NJAC title and one cross country NJAC championship … high honor roll student … undecided on major.
