Erin Gibbons enters her first season as assistant women’s basketball coach at East Stroudsburg University in 2023-24.
Gibbons, a native of Swoyersville, comes to the Poconos after serving as a graduate assistant for a year within the Shippensburg sports information department, along with playing three seasons for the Raiders (2019-23) and a pair at Mansfield (2017-19). She also served as an AAU coach for the NEPA Elite and My Sky Elite.
As a two-year starter for the Mounties, Gibbons played in 53 games and made 49 starts. She averaged 10.6 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 32.5 minutes per game. After transferring to Shippensburg following her sophomore campaign, Gibbons served as a team captain for two seasons, helped the Raiders capture a pair of PSAC East Division championships as well as advance to the NCAA Atlantic Regional semifinals in 2022-23. Gibbons finished her five-year career with 841 points, 294 rebounds, 200 assists and 95 steals.
Gibbons graduated with a bachelor's degree in public relations from Shippensburg in May 2022 and will receive her master's degree in strategic communications this upcoming December.
