Nina Mazzarelli enters her first season as a graduate assistant for ESU’s women’s basketball program in 2018-19. She joins the Warriors after a standout collegiate career at Albright and Chestnut Hill.

Mazzarelli played her final three seasons at Albright, where she recorded 1,369 points and 171 made 3-pointers. Both of those totals are fourth in team history, and she also leaves the program ranked second all-time in 3-point field goal percentage (34.9).

The Lions advanced to the NCAA Division III tournament in each of her three seasons. As a sophomore, Mazzarelli was named MAC Tournament MVP after leading the team to its first-ever conference title. Albright would go on to advance to the DII Sweet 16 that year.

Mazzarelli was an honorable mention All-MAC Commonwealth performer as a senior after averaging a team-high 14.2 points per game, and she was second team All-MAC Commonwealth as a junior after totaling a team-best 14.7 points per game. She was additionally named NCAA Women of the Year in 2017-18.

During her one season at Chestnut Hill, Mazzarelli averaged 7.4 points per game while shooting 35.5 percent from 3-point range and a team-best 84.4 percent from the free throw line.

Mazzarelli was a MAC Academic Honor Roll recipient while majoring in psychology at Albright. She will be working towards a master’s degree in public health during her time at ESU.
