Aaron Jaffe, formerly the assistant coach at Notre Dame College (Ohio) for four seasons, completed his second season as the head coach of the women’s lacrosse program at East Stroudsburg University in 2014.
The Warriors went 8-9 in 2014, a five-win improvement over a 3-13 record in 2013. They opened the season with six straight wins, including their PSAC opener against Kutztown. They also had conference wins over Slippery Rock and Edinboro.
Redshirt freshman goalkeeper Jessica Maxwell was named All-PSAC second team and sophomore attack Kaitlynn Wiltraut was the team's top scorer with 47 goals. Defender Samantha Kochey was selected to the IWLCA Division II North/South Senior All-Star Game.
In 2013, attack Sarah Ginn was named All-PSAC third team after leading ESU with 41 goals. Attack Lauren Nunes had a strong freshman season with 30 goals, and goalkeeper Amanda Simms led the PSAC with 9.88 saves per game and played in the IWLCA Senior All-Star Game.
Jaffe brought college, high school and international coaching experience to his first collegiate head coaching job at ESU. He took over a program that went to the PSAC Tournament in 2008, 2010 and 2011, when the Warriors had their first postseason win in 25 years.
Jaffe assisted Torrey McGowan at Notre Dame from 2009-12, helping build a program that transitioned from a member of the NAIA to its recent approval as a full member of NCAA Division II. He was associate head coach for the 2012 season.
In his four seasons at Notre Dame, the Falcons posted records of 11-3, 11-5, 9-5 and most recently 6-10 as they played a mostly Division II schedule for the first time in 2012.
He served as the team’s defensive coordinator, director of operations and organized the team’s academic monitoring program and strength and conditioning sessions. He was also the college’s video coordinator.
Jaffe resided in Hamburg, Germany in 2008-09, serving as head men’s coach and women’s goalkeepers coach for the Hamburg Warriors.
He previously was a high school head coach at Fort Collins (Colo.), leading his team to its first state championship in 2007 and returning to the state finals in 2008. He was an assistant coach at Harriton High School in Rosemont, Pa. in 2005 and 2006 and ran the high school’s tutoring center.
From 2006-08, he operated Jaffe Media, a web design, video production and consulting firm.
Jaffe is a 2005 graduate of Whittier College (Calif.), where he was a three-time NCAA Division III All-American and made three straight appearances in the NCAA Tournament. He helped Whittier reach the DIII Final Four as a sophomore in 2003 and was team captain as a senior. He holds a bachelor’s degree in English and a Master’s degree in Athletic Administration and Coaching from Concordia University (Calif.) in 2011.
He is originally from Ardmore, Pa. and a 2000 graduate of Lower Merion High School. He was a high school All-America selection and member of the school’s 1999 state championship team.While in high school, he served as a head coach in the Ashbee Youth Lacrosse League.
