Lynne Elphick

Lynne Elphick guided the East Stroudsburg University women's lacrosse program to PSAC playoff appearances and 11 victories, tying the school record, in both 2008 and 2010 during her five-year tenure as head coach for the Warriors. Elphick announced she was stepping down as head coach following the 2010 season.

Elphick was the PSAC Coach of the Year in 2008 and had a career record of 34-48, going 29-24 over her final three years. ESU finished below .500 for seven straight years before its turnaround season in 2008, going 11-7 for an eight-win improvement and the first PSAC tournament appearance since 2005.

The 2008 squad was led by four All-PSAC selections in top scorers Katie Fretz and Renee Maniscalco, midfielder Christine Bradley and defender Janelle Cronmiller.

A trio of juniors - Bradley, Michelle Mangiaruga and Molly O'Hara, the PSAC East Athlete of the Year - were the driving forces behind the 2010 season which included a school-record 232 goals. O'Hara (56 goals) and Mangiaruga (40 goals) both went over the 100-goal mark for their careers, with Bradley not far behind.

In 2009, ESU went 7-10 and had three first team All-PSAC East picks - Bradley, Mangiaruga and defender Laura Riegel, who was named to the IWLCA All-Rookie team in Division II. Defender Jennifer Kelly was selected in 2010.

A 2003 graduate of ESU, Elphick was a four-year player on the lacrosse team and earned her degree in communications with a minor in English.

She returned to ESU after coaching for two years at Alvernia College in Reading, Pa. She led Alvernia to six wins and a 5-5 record in the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference in her first season as a head coach. She was also an assistant coach for one year.

At Alvernia, Elphick was also the CHAMPS/Life Skills Coordinator and worked with student-athletes on a number of projects while also arranging speakers.

Elphick is originally from South Conventry Township, Pa. and is a graduate of Owen J. Roberts High School, where she was a four-year starter in lacrosse.

Lynne and her husband Chris were married in November 2007 and reside in Allentown with their one-year old daughter, Ava, their black pitbull, Chaz, and two cats, Sweety and Lucky. The couple is expecting their second child in December.
