Brie Globig returns for her fifth season as head swimming coach at East Stroudsburg University in 2019-20.

The Warriors had eight different individuals qualify for the PSAC championships last winter, with a fifth-place finish by Olivia Lukshides in the 100 free highlighting ESU’s performance at the conference meet. Lukshides set new school records in both the 100 and 200 free events at PSAC’s, and ESU had 10 individual scoring performances overall.

Globig led the Warriors to their best finish at the PSAC championships in 16 years in 2017-18, as seven Warriors combined for 27 scoring performances at the conference meet. ESU had two individuals qualify for ‘A’ finals for the first time in five years, as Annie Fagan placed seventh in the 100 free and Lukshides took seventh in the 200 free. The Warriors also had their best showing in a relay since 2004, as Fagan, Lukshides, Colleen Dwyer and Briana Hall touched the line fifth in the 400 free relay.

ESU ultimately placed seventh in the team standings with a total of 456 points. The Warriors set eight new school records under Globig in 2017-18, including three new relay marks at PSAC’s and five individual record-breaking performances. ESU stood out academically as well last season, earning Scholar All-America team recognition from the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America after registering a collective 3.34 team grade-point average in the fall.

The swim program showed steady improvement in each of Globig’s first three seasons as head coach. Fagan highlighted ESU’s performance at the 2017 conference meet, breaking a 39-year old school record to place fourth in the 50 free while also taking seventh place in the 100 free. Fagan’s fourth-place showing was the best by a Warrior swimmer since 2009.

ESU also registered top eight finishes in four of the five contested relays under Globig’s guidance, led by a sixth-place effort from the 200 medley team of Colleen Dwyer, Kate Zimmerman, Allison Cardow and Fagan. The Warriors have had at least one individual scorer in every contested event at the past two conference championships.

Globig served as the Warriors' interim head coach in 2015-16 before being named the program's permanent head coach in June 2016. She previously assisted head coach Lisa Pizzuto in 2014-15. Fourteen new school records have been established during her first four years with the program.

Prior to joining ESU, Globig worked as a graduate assistant coach at California (Pa.) in 2013-14, where she received her master's degree in Sport Management and Intercollegiate Athletic Administration. She helped coach 13 PSAC qualifiers and one NCAA Division II national qualifier. Cal swimmers also broke one school individual record, one relay record and one pool record.

As a student-athlete, Globig competed at Bloomsburg and earned NCAA "B" standard times in 2010, 2011 and 2012. She was a four-year letterwinner and earned her degree in Pre-Physical Therapy with a minor in Psychology.
