Alyson Procopio, a three-year volleyball letter winner at East Stroudsburg from 2005-2007, enters her second season as a graduate assistant in 2017. The Manahawkin, N.J., native has previous coaching experience at Hackettstown High School, where she was named Coach of the Year by the New Jersey Herald in 2009 and 2011 after leading Hackettstown to conference championships in each of those respective seasons.
Procopio worked at the school from 2009-14. In addition to her volleyball responsibilities, she taught courses in physical education and 21st century career & life skills. Procopio has a wide range of experience in exercise and fitness training, having also assisted at multiple ski resorts and skydiving centers in recent years.
A 2009 graduate of ESU, Procopio was a co-captain of the volleyball team in 2007. A defensive specialist, she ranked third on the team in digs with 244 as a junior. Procopio was additionally second on the team in digs per set as a sophomore in 2006, when the Warriors qualified for the PSAC tournament and finished with an overall record of 21-14.
Procopio is working towards her master’s degree in sport management and leadership at ESU after earning her undergraduate degree in health and physical education. Along with her coaching, she has additional responsibilities as an assistant to academic coordinator Nancy Jo Greenawalt.
