Michelle Kreeger enters her fifth season as the head coach of the East Stroudsburg University women's volleyball program.
The 2009 season was marked by AVCA All-Region honors for libero Lindsey Lullo, who was eighth in Division II with 5.7 digs per set. Outside hitter Alyson Stark gathered her second straight All-PSAC East honor despite missing a significant stretch of the season and is approaching ESU's career top 10 in kills, blocks and aces.
In 2008, the Warriors made their second PSAC tournament appearance in three years. Stark and middle blocker Caitlin Kuhn were All-PSAC East and Kuhn set season and career school records for blocks.
ESU also played in the PSAC tournament in Kreeger's first year the helm in 2006, guiding the team to a 21-14 overall record and 8-2 mark in the PSAC East as ESU returned to the postseason for the first time since 2004.
Dawn Peipher was named All-Region after placing third in the nation with 7.0 digs per game, and became the 16th player in NCAA Division II history to reach 2,000 career digs. Peipher, Jenn Mills, Nikki LeBlanc, Kayla Mahffay, Kuhn and Stark have all been named to the All-PSAC East team during the last four years.
In the classroom, the Warriors have received the AVCA Team Academic Award the last two years (2008 and 2009) and were the recipients of ESU's women's team academic achievement award for the 2009-10 academic year.
Kreeger came to ESU after serving as head coach at Franklin Pierce College for one season, where she helped the Ravens to a 14-13 record overall, an 8-5 mark in the Northeast-10 Conference, and their first-ever appearance in the NE-10 postseason championship, where they finished fourth.She also served as the compliance coordinator and assistant lacrosse coach.
Before joining the collegiate coaching ranks, Kreeger led the Metro American 16 and under club team to silver championships at several tournaments and coached at Bishop Ireton High School in Alexandria, Va.
Kreeger graduated from American University in 1991 with a bachelor's degree in Literature, and earned her Master's degree in Health and Fitness Management from AU in 2004. She has continued her coaching education through the United States Association of Volleyball and Gold Medal Squared Coaching Clinics, and holds CAP I and VCS certifications.
Kreeger lives in East Stroudsburg with her two lab mixes, Sadie and Tara.
