Shannon Fisher completed her first season as head coach of the East Stroudsburg University women's volleyball program in 2011 after serving as assistant coach for the previous three seasons.

The Warriors' season was highlighted by freshman libero Haley Mork, who was seventh in the PSAC with 4.33 digs per set. Several freshmen and sophomores were among the top contributors on a team that had just one senior. Junior Kaitlin Behrens was the top hitter with 168 kills and sophomore Ashley Lesniak had another strong season at middle blocker.

Fisher, a four-year letterwinner as a player at Lafayette, was an assistant coach for the Leopards in 2007 prior to coming to ESU. She has also served as a coach for Court Authority Volleyball Academy for the last six years and coached teams to the USA Volleyball Junior Olympic Nationals in 2010 and 2011.

She has been involved with a number of camps, clinics and recreational leagues, and participated in the USA Volleyball High Performance Coaches’ Clinic at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs in January 2008. She is a member of the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA).

A 2007 graduate of Lafayette, Fisher was the Leopards’ team captain as a senior, when she was named to the All-Patriot League second team at middle hitter, led the league with a .372 hitting percentage and ranked fifth in blocks.

Fisher was a Dean’s List student at Lafayette and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and Sociology. She was a member of the Athletic Honor Roll each semester, was a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee all four years and was Vice President as a senior. She earned her Master’s degree in Sport Management from ESU in May 2011.

Fisher was an assistant coach from 2008-10 under Michelle Kreeger, who served as head coach for five years and helped the Warriors to PSAC Tournament appearances in 2006 and 2008.
