East Stroudsburg University Director of Athletics Dr. Allen G. Snook Jr., D.H.Sc., is a nationally respected figure in NCAA Division II, recognized for visionary leadership, strategic facility development, and a commitment to holistic student-athlete success. Now in his fourth year at ESU and 24th in collegiate athletics, he continues to advance the university as a rising contender in the PSAC and on the national stage.

Appointed on June 14, 2022, Dr. Snook has guided ESU through a period of exceptional growth. Under his leadership, the Warriors climbed from 61st to 31st in the NCAA Division II Learfield Directors’ Cup and earned back-to-back top-three finishes in the PSAC Dixon Trophy standings—marking the most successful era in ESU athletics.

Facility modernization has been a key pillar of his tenure. Dr. Snook oversaw major upgrades to Creekview Park, Eiler-Martin Stadium, Whitenight Field and secured a record-setting $220,000 grant from the USTA to expand Wolbers Tennis Courts. These improvements support varsity competition and community initiatives, including youth programming and Special Olympics.
Academically, ESU led the PSAC in Scholar-Athlete recognition in 2024–25, with 361 student-athletes—64% of its athletic population—earning honors and reinforcing the program’s commitment to excellence beyond the playing field.

Athletically, the university thrived under Dr. Snook’s direction. ESU captured PSAC titles in Field Hockey (2022, 2023) and Men’s Track & Field and Softball in 2025.  Additionally, under his leadership he Claimed a National championship, Runner- Up, and Semi-Finalist in Field Hockey, while winning regional championships in Baseball, Lacrosse, Softball.  The Warriors also qualified for NCAA postseason competition across multiple programs, including Baseball, Cross-Country, Football, Field Hockey, Men’s Basketball, Softball, and Women’s Lacrosse. Individual qualifiers distinguished themselves in Cross-Country, Men’s and Women’s Indoor/Outdoor Track and Men’s and Women’s Wrestling, underscoring the depth and talent cultivated during his leadership.

Prior to ESU, Dr. Snook held key administrative roles at Cedar Crest College and Pfeiffer University. He holds degrees from Bloomsburg, Shippensburg, and A.T. Still University, is certified in athletic training, and remains an active contributor to professional and community-based initiatives.
