Dr. Jim Glovach serves as the Associate Athletic Director for Compliance at East Stroudsburg University Athletics, where he plays a critical role in ensuring NCAA compliance for more than 700 student-athletes across 30 athletic programs. Since joining ESU, he has completely modernized the compliance program, implementing new procedures, tracking systems, and digitized processes to streamline operations related to scholarships, roster management, playing and practice seasons, recruiting, and campus visits. His leadership has strengthened ESU’s commitment to integrity and student-athlete success.
Glovach oversees the certification of initial and continuing eligibility for incoming, current, and transfer student-athletes, working closely with the Director of Financial Aid to monitor student-athlete aid and ensure compliance with NCAA regulations. As the primary NCAA rules interpreter for ESU coaches and staff, he provides comprehensive rules education to student-athletes, department staff, alumni, boosters, and other campus constituents. His responsibilities also include monitoring NCAA regulations related to recruiting, amateurism, awards and benefits, playing and practice seasons, sports camps and clinics, and responding to any compliance-related inquiries or violations.
In addition to his compliance duties, Dr. Glovach serves as a key liaison between the Director of Athletics and the Faculty Athletics Representative, ensuring clear communication on all compliance matters, including eligibility, violations, and reinstatements. He manages the submission of NCAA waivers, medical hardships, and student-athlete reinstatement forms, while also overseeing the scholarship program and maintaining compliance databases such as Compliance Assistant (CAi) and ARMS. His role extends to game administration, where he serves as the on-site administrator for assigned sports, ensuring smooth operations during athletic events.
Prior to his tenure at ESU, Glovach held leadership roles at Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi, where he served as Assistant Director of the Center for Athletic Academic Services and Scholastic Coordinator for Men’s and Women’s Basketball. His efforts contributed to record-breaking academic achievements, including the highest Men’s Basketball GPA in department history. He also played a pivotal role in leadership development programming for student-athletes.
At West Texas A&M University, Glovach served as Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance & Academics, overseeing compliance operations, academic affairs, and game administration. His tenure saw significant improvements in student-athlete academic performance, including a steady increase in department-wide GPA and graduation rates. His experience also includes compliance and game administration roles at Kutztown University.
Dr. Glovach holds a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from West Texas A&M University, where his research focused on transfer students and the role of athletic participation in fostering campus acclimation. He also earned a Master of Education in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Kutztown University and a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management with a Business Management minor from East Stroudsburg University.
