Erik Pedersen

Erik Pedersen is in his third year at ESU during the 2018-19 academic year. He was promoted to sports information director in August, 2018 after two years as the sports information assistant.

He was the primary contact for ESU's 2017 PSAC champion men's soccer team, and has also aided with coverage of PSAC championships in women's lacrosse (2017), women's soccer (2017) and men's basketball (2018), along with NCAA Tournament appearances by men's soccer (2017), women's soccer (2016 and 2017), field hockey (2016 and 2017), women's lacrosse (2017 and 2018) and men's basketball (2018).

Pedersen was previously an athletic communications assistant at Lafayette College during the 2015-16 academic year. He was the primary contact for women's basketball, baseball, field hockey, volleyball, cross country, track & field and fencing during his time at Lafayette. Pedersen traveled to all road contests with the women's basketball program, which was led by Hall of Fame head coach Theresa Grentz.

The Annapolis, Md., native was formerly an assistant sports information director at Goucher College in Towson, Md., from 2013-15. At Goucher, Pedersen served as the official statistician for all home events and assumed primary responsibility for managing the school's athletic website. He also supervised the department's social media accounts and handled all aspects of video production. In the spring of 2015, Pedersen additionally worked as a communications coordinator for the Landmark Conference. 

Prior to joining Goucher, Pedersen was a sports information graduate assistant at Auburn Montgomery, an NAIA institution located in Montgomery, Ala. He was the primary contact for several sports, including a national championship-winning women's tennis team and a softball team which qualified for the NAIA World Series. Pedersen completed his master's degree in sports management from AUM in 2014.

Pedersen is a 2012 graduate of Fordham University, where he earned a double major in Communication and Media Studies and Political Science. He was the sports editor for the school's student newspaper, The Ram, as a senior and he served as an operations intern for Sportsnet New York (SNY) during his junior year.

Pedersen currently lives in Easton, Pa., with his fiancée, Katie, and their dog, Molly.
