Sam Traini was named the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications in October 2025.
Traini joins East Stroudsburg after spending the 2024-25 academic year as the Director of Strategic Communications and Ideation at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
While at IUP, Traini served as the primary contact for all 17 varsity sports. She maintained the athletic department’s website, managed communications efforts, and oversaw student workers and interns. She also managed the department’s team social media accounts through graphics, photography, and in-game coverage. For all home events, she handled statistics, live-stream production, and creative content efforts.
Additionally, Traini executed multiple media days and National Signing Day for the IUP football program in 2025. She also assisted the athletics department in compiling nominations for the PSAC’s 75th anniversary which took place throughout the 2025-26 academic year.
Traini graduated from IUP in December 2023 with a bachelor’s degree in Sport Administration. During her time at IUP, she worked as a student worker in the athletic communications department for two years before completing an internship during her final semester.
As a student worker and intern, Traini worked weekly on game notes and game programs for the football and men’s and women’s basketball teams. She oversaw the department’s photo database and maintained the athletic department’s website. She also assisted with day-to-day operations, provided live coverage for home and away games, and trained new student workers.
In May 2023, Traini traveled with the IUP women’s tennis team to the NCAA Sweet 16 at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla. She was responsible for providing live match coverage through the team’s social media accounts while writing press releases and providing photography.
In the summer of 2023, Traini completed an internship with the sports information department at Shippensburg University. As an intern, she organized photo databases, updated record books and biographies, and maintained the athletic department’s website with schedules and rosters for the 2023-24 academic year.
