After conducting a national search, East Stroudsburg University has hired Tayler Jamison as the fifth women's soccer head coach in program history, Director of Athletics Dr. Allen Snook Jr. announced March 3.
"I'm honored to join East Stroudsburg University and grateful to Dr. Snook and President [Kenneth] Long for the opportunity to lead this program," Jamison said.Â
"From the moment I stepped on campus, I felt the commitment to elevating women's soccer. Our goal is to create an environment where our student-athletes thrive academically, personally, and competitively, while competing for championships in the PSAC and beyond. I'm excited to connect with our current players, alumni, and the ESU community as we build a program rooted in high standards and a championship culture."Â
Jamison joins the Warriors after spending five seasons as the assistant coach at Misericordia University. During her tenure with the Cougars, she helped lead the team to three MAC Championships and four NCAA Tournament appearances. Jamison helped the Cougars to an impressive 35-1 MAC record, going perfect in conference play the past four seasons.Â
"I am excited to welcome Tayler Jamison to Warrior Nation as the new leader of our women's soccer program," said President Long. "Coach Jamison has tremendous experience in coaching, recruiting, fostering student success, and engaging with the community. Her deep-rooted connections in the Mid-Atlantic Region, coupled with a keen understanding of the competitive landscape of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference, position her perfectly to spearhead the ascent of ESU Women's soccer."Â
At Misericordia, she led the recruiting efforts, team operations, and implemented strength and conditioning programs to enhance player performance. Jamison recruited and coached multiple standouts, including Offensive & Defensive Players of the Year, Rookies of the Year, and a National Player of the Year.Â
"On behalf of everyone with ESU Athletics, I'd like to welcome Tayler to the Warrior Family," said Dr. Snook.Â
"Tayler has a tremendous amount of coaching experience at the collegiate level, but regardless of where she has been, the one constant is that she's a proven winner. Her teams not only win on the field, but they win off it as well. Tayler has established a strong program culture built on relationships with her student-athletes and an emphasis on academics. We cannot wait for her to get started, and we're excited about the future."Â
Jamison has also been a lead trainer for the Back Mountain Soccer Club since 2019 and served as the Director of Coaching in 2021-22. She guided the team to a conference championship and earned Coach of the Year honors. Jamison oversaw training and development for more than 1,100 players across recreational and travel programs, and executed camps, clinics, and community outreach programs.Â
Following her three-year stint at Misericordia, Tayler served as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Washington University in St. Louis, Mo., from 2022-23. During her time with the Bears, she helped lead the team to an NCAA Elite 8 appearance. While on the WashU coaching staff, they had one All-American Selection, two All-Region selections, and four all-conference selections.Â
"Coach Jamison embodies the qualities of leadership and vision that will not only benefit our student-athletes but also enrich our entire athletic department and campus community," said President Long.Â
 Â
After graduation, Jamison spent two years as a graduate assistant for women's soccer at Misericordia University before accepting an assistant coaching position in 2021. Â
Â
Jamison is a graduate of West Chester University, where she was a three-year letter-winner as a midfielder and forward.  Jamison earned her bachelor's degree in exercise science and her master's degree in business administration.Â
 Â
Jamison played collegiately at Division I Virginia Commonwealth University before transferring to West Chester. At West Chester, she led the Rams to three NCAA Tournament appearances, including two trips to the Sweet 16 and one Elite 8 berth, and served as a team captain as a senior.Â
