MANSFIELD - Graduate student
Travis Toth won the men's hammer for his fourth career PSAC championship to lead East Stroudsburg University on the second day of the 2016 PSAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Friday at Mansfield University.
Toth hit a mark of 202-5, improving his PSAC-leading and No. 9-ranked NCAA Division II provisional qualifying mark of 202-2 entering the meet, to capture his second PSAC title this year. He won the PSAC indoor title in the weight throw, and won the weight indoors and hammer outdoors in 2014 before a redshirt season in 2015.
Toth is the ninth ESU men's track and field athlete to win at least four PSAC championships. He is expected to earn a trip to the NCAA Division II Championships (May 26-28) in Bradenton, Florida.
Toth was one of five ESU men's athletes with a top-eight finish on Friday. The Warriors are tied for third (39 points) entering the final day of competition.
Four ESU women's athletes posted scoring performances Friday, following the PSAC title in the 10,000m from junior
Allison Decker to open the meet on Thursday night. ESU stands sixth of 16 schools (26 points) entering Saturday.
Women's Results
ESU had two freshmen scorers in the high jump in
Victoria Matthews (3rd - 5-5 1/4) and

Freshman
Michayla Weitman picked up an eighth-place finish in the heptathlon for her first PSAC scoring effort.
