Billy Inge enters his seventh season on the ESU Football staff in 2026.
Inge’s secondary has produced seven All-PSAC East selections since 2019, including three First Team performances, two All-Region seasons, and a D2Football.com Second Team All-American in Everette Dingle.
Inge helped the Warriors’ secondary become elite at picking off the opposing quarterback, with 11 Warriors accounting for 19 interceptions (4th in NCAA DII) during the 2023 NCAA Playoff campaign. Under Inge's guidance, Jahmere Crumpton (2023) and Tyler Watson (2021-22) have been recognized by the PSAC for all-conference recognition. The Warriors allowed just one 300-yard passer in 2023.
In his first year on the coaching staff, Ingle helped guide Tyler Watson to All-PSAC East First Team honors at safety. Watson ranked third on the team in tackles (54) and pass breakups (9), while tying for the team lead in both interceptions (3) and forced fumbles (2). Watson ranked in the top-10 in the conference in pass breakups, interceptions, forced fumbles, and fumble recoveries.
Inge was a two-year starter at free safety for the Warriors in 2017 and 2018. He was named to the All-PSAC East second team in his final season, when he led ESU with 76 tackles, ranked third in the PSAC with five interceptions, and had three forced fumbles. He was named one of the Warriors’ team captains and was honored by the Touchdown Club of Southern New Jersey as one of its five collegiate players of the year.
Inge was a student assistant for the Warriors during the 2019 season, coaching an All-PSAC East cornerback and helping ESU improve significantly in scoring defense, total defense, pass defense, and opponents’ completion percentage.
He tied ESU’s career record with nine forced fumbles, coming in just 20 games and 19 starts. He had 142 career tackles and six interceptions.
Inge was the NCAA Division II statistical leader in forced fumbles (0.67 per game) in 2017 and was ESU’s Red Shirt Award recipient. He had 66 tackles, an ESU-record six forced fumbles, an interception, and eight pass breakups.
As a senior, Inge was PSAC East Defensive Player of the Week with two interceptions, including a touchdown, and two forced fumbles vs. West Chester.
Inge, a native of Williamstown, N.J., is a 2020 graduate of ESU with a degree in exercise science and a concentration in sport and exercise conditioning.
His camp experience includes Friday Night Lights in the Poconos at ESU, ESU Prospect Camps, and the First & Goal Sports Youth Camp.
