Box Score
EAST STROUDSBURG - Millersville scored the game-tying goal with 3:26 left in regulation, then won the game 3:33 into overtime for a 2-1 win over East Stroudsburg University in PSAC men's soccer on Monday night at Eiler-Martin Stadium.
The Warriors (15-2, 12-2) were less than four minutes from their 13th consecutive win, which would have tied the school record, when Kyle Loughlin scored on a corner kick taken by Matthew Procopio to knot the score at 1-1.
The Marauders (9-5-1, 8-4-1) won the final of their nine corner kicks three minutes into the first overtime period, and Jeremy Yoder knocked the ball in after a scramble inside the six-yard box for the game-winning goal.
Junior forward Jason Shegda, making his first start since Sept. 22, scored for the Warriors 8:07 into the second half. Shegda played a ball behind the defense to Roshane Ellison and scored after Ellison's initial shot was saved by Millersville goalkeeper Lucas Stacey.
Stacey (three saves) played more than 85 minutes in goal after replacing Matt Langione, who left 8:01 into the contest with an injury. ESU goalkeeper Larry Pokrywa was also credited with three saves in the match.
The Warriors were taken into overtime for the first time this season and finish their streak with a goal differential of 36-8. ESU's first loss of the season came on Sept. 1 against California, and the winning streak began with a 4-0 win over Kutztown on Sept. 6.
ESU will travel to C.W. Post for a non-conference match-up on Thursday at 3 p.m. before returning to PSAC play for the final two games of the regular season.
