EAST STROUDSBURG - Sophomore forward Jason Rudder's goal in the 71st minute was the game-winner to give East Stroudsburg University a 2-1 victory in the second game of a doubleheader with Bloomsburg on a memorable night at Eiler-Martin Stadium.

A crowd of 1,341 helped the Warriors unveil the lights at the stadium for the first time in a ceremony between games. ESU President Dr. Robert J. Dillman, Director of Athletics Dr. Tom Gioglio and Student Activities Association President Robb Ruiz were on hand for a ceremony on the track to thank all of those involved with making night contests at Eiler-Martin Stadium a reality.

Junior midfielder Roshane Ellison gave ESU a 1-0 lead 23:03 into the match with a quick strike from just outside the box.

The lead held up until the 59th minute, when Christian Rota finished a chance created by Tom Kovack to tie the score at 1-1. The goal broke a scoreless streak of 517:55 for sophomore goalkeeper Larry Pokrywa, who has surrendered just four goals in more than 1200 minutes so far in his career.

The next 10 minutes featured several golden scoring opportunities, but Pokrywa and Bloomsburg goalkeeper Jon Keller both turned away point-blank shots to maintain the tie. Pokrywa had five saves, and Keller was credited with three saves for the Huskies.

Rudder finally broke through with a goal off a corner kick with 18:47 remaining, with the assist coming from sophomore midfielder Toric Robinson. Robinson owns three of ESU's five assists this season.

ESU, which improved to 2-0 in the PSAC and 3-0 overall, will take on California (Pa.) in a PSAC match on Saturday at noon.
