ESU Men's Soccer Wins 2-1 at West Chester

WEST CHESTER - East Stroudsburg University won 2-1 at West Chester on Monday afternoon, earning a key PSAC men's soccer victory and setting up a showdown on Saturday against Lock Haven.

Junior forward Kevin Holmes scored his team-leading sixth goal of the season 10 minutes in, and sophomore back Danny Drago added a goal in the 62nd minute to give ESU a 2-0 lead. Josh Harris scored with just over 12 minutes left for West Chester.

Sophomore Larry Pokrywa improved to 13-1 as a starter in his career at ESU. Pokrywa made one save as ESU held a 14-7 advantage in shots in the contest.

The win gives the Warriors a 6-1 PSAC record going into the final game of the first half of their conference schedule on Saturday at 2 p.m. vs. Lock Haven. The Bald Eagles kept pace with a 3-2 overtime win at Millersville on Monday.

ESU faced Lock Haven four times last year and split the series 2-2. ESU won the PSAC championship 1-0 in overtime before falling 2-1, again in OT, five days later in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
