SHIPPENSBURG - Junior forward Jason Shegda scored the game-winning goal with 5:03 remaining to lift East Stroudsburg University to a 2-1 victory on Saturday night at Shippensburg.

The Warriors improve to 4-1 in the PSAC and 5-1 overall with the win, while Shippensburg falls to 0-4-1 and 0-3-1 in the conference.

ESU scored three goals in the first 10 minutes in a 4-0 win over Kutztown on Thursday night, but didn't dent the scoreboard until the match was nearly an hour old on Saturday.

The game remained deadlocked until Shegda scored his fourth of the season, with the assist coming from Roshane Ellison, to put the Warriors ahead in the 85th minute.

Sophomore Larry Pokrywa earned the win in goal and made two saves, while Chris Popolizio was also credited with two saves for Shippensburg.

ESU will return to the field on Friday at 7 p.m.with a non-conference game against Bridgeport at Eiler-Martin Stadium.
