Box Score

MANSFIELD - Kevin Hill hit two three-pointers in the final minute, including the game-winner with three seconds left, to give Mansfield an 83-81 overtime victory against visiting East Stroudsburg on Wednesday night at Decker Gymnasium.

Junior forward Chris Bach tied the game at 73-73 with a layup with 29 seconds left, and gave ESU an 80-75 lead in the overtime period with a tip-in of a missed three-pointer with 1:27 left.

Ryan Callahan made two free throws to cut the lead to three, and Hill pulled Mansfield within one point (81-80) with a three-pointer with 46 seconds left.

Bach missed a layup with 10 seconds to go and Hill hit the game-winner at the other end. Andy Heimbach's final desperation attempt was no good.

ESU, playing in its first game since leading scorer and rebounder Channon Easley went down with an injury, rallied from a 10-point deficit in the first half to take a 10-point lead on a layup by senior forward Josh Wentz with 11 minutes left.

Hill made a three to start a 10-2 run to get Mansfield back in the game, and the lead switched hands five times in the final four minutes before Bach forced the game's seventh tie that ultimately sent the game into overtime.

Bach and Wentz led ESU with 17 points each, Heimbach had 15 and junior forward Aaron Pinckney scored 12 points in his first career start. Bach also had team-highs with eight rebounds, four blocks and three steals to help offset the absence of Easley.

John Hampton scored 23 points for Mansfield and Hill finished with 17. Hampton and Hill combined to shoot 8-for-15 from three-point range.

ESU will return to PSAC East play with a trip to Millersville on Saturday to face the defending PSAC champions at 3 p.m.
