EAST STROUDSBURG - Junior forward
Chris Bach set career-highs with 24 points, 13 rebounds, five assists and five blocked shots as East Stroudsburg University won its ninth straight game with a 102-57 victory over Briarcliffe at Koehler Fieldhouse.
Bach was 10-of-11 from the field and teamed with senior forward Channon Easley (13 points, 14 rebounds) to help the Warriors (9-3) to a 63-36 advantage on the glass.
Easley, the second-leading shot blocker in school history, became the seventh ESU player to record 600 career rebounds and has scored 898 points in his career at ESU.
Andy Heimbach scored 16 points, Dawud Lyons had 12 and Josh Wentz added 10 to give ESU five players in double figures for the second time this season. Sophomore forward Preston Ritter also scored eight points to set a career-high.
Junior guard Pat Fleury was the only ESU player that didn't score but matched his season average with six assists, as the Warriors had assists on 27 of their 39 field goals. Fleury entered the game as the PSAC leader with 5.7 assists per game this season.
ESU led 22-5 after the first 10 minutes, including an emphatic dunk by Bach on an assist from junior forward Aaron Pinckney. The Warriors led 47-23 at halftime.
Bach scored ESU's first nine points of the second half, featuring another fast break dunk on a pass from Wentz, and freshman guard Mike DeMarco hit a three-pointer to cap a 12-4 run to open the half and put the Warriors ahead 59-27.
Antoine McGee led Briarcliffe (4-9) with 17 points and eight rebounds.
ESU will go for its 10th straight win on Saturday at California. The Warriors are 6-0 this season in crossover games against the PSAC West, and will begin PSAC East play against Cheyney next Wednesday at 8 p.m. at Koehler Fieldhouse.
