WEST CHESTER - The starting front line of Chris Bach, Channon Easley and Josh Wentz combined to score 44 points to lead East Stroudsburg University to a 58-53 win at West Chester in a key PSAC East game on Saturday at Hollinger Field House.

Bach celebrated his 30th birthday with a game-high 16 points and Easley had 13 points, seven rebounds and seven blocked shots for the Warriors. Wentz scored 15 points and was 3-of-5 from the three-point line.

ESU (15-8, 3-5) had a season-high 10 blocked shots and held West Chester (11-12, 2-6) to a 28.1 field goal percentage. The Golden Rams held a 46-29 advantage on the glass, including 30 offensive rebounds, but were just 18-of-64 from the field and shot below 30 percent in each half.

Wentz made back-to-back three-pointers to give ESU a 30-16 advantage, its biggest lead of the first half, with 4:39 left and the Warriors led 34-21 at the break.

ESU still led by double figures (54-44) with just over three minutes to go before West Chester ripped off eight straight points to pull within two on a three-pointer by Kenneth St. George with 49 seconds left.

Wentz was fouled on a drive to the basket and put ESU ahead 56-52 with 25 seconds left, and Aaron Pinckney sealed the win with a pair of free throws with 12 seconds to play after St. George split a pair from the line.

Bach, Easley and Wentz scored all but three of ESU's 24 second-half points, led by nine from Wentz, and Easley blocked five shots after intermission. His final block came with 1:40 left and ESU clinging to a six-point lead and gave him 195 career blocks, within shouting distance of becoming the second player in school history to reach 200 blocked shots for his career.

St. George and Kehinde Roberts led West Chester with 14 points each and Kevin Gallagher had 13 points and 11 rebounds off the bench.

The Warriors travel to Bloomsburg for an 8 p.m. game on Wednesday as they look to secure their third straight trip to the PSAC Tournament for the first time in 16 years.
