HAMPTON, Va. - Kevin Thompson was 3-for-5 with two RBI and Dave Boyer threw seven innings to lead East Stroudsburg University to an 11-2 win over Bloomsburg in the morning session of the Builder Invitational on Saturday at the Apprentice School.

Lock Haven came back from a 7-5 deficit in the bottom of the 10th to post an 8-7 win over ESU in the second game of the day.

Boyer allowed just one earned run and struck out eight against the Huskies, and Kyle Sheaffer, Brendan O'Malley and Mike Bortz joined Thompson with multiple-hit games.

ESU jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first two innings, with Sheaffer picking up RBI's with a sacrifice fly in both frames. Anthony Clemens added an RBI single in the first, and O'Malley and Thompson both drove in runs with base hits in the second.

The Warriors extended their lead to 6-1 on a sacrifice fly from O'Malley in the sixth, and ESU plated five runs over the final two innings to put the game away. Thompson had an RBI single for the first of three runs in the eighth, Clemens picked up the Warriors' fourth sacrifice fly of the day, and John Pisker scored on a wild pitch.

Sheaffer belted a run-scoring double in the ninth, and Chad Schlegel came home on a wild pitch to complete the scoring.

ESU took an early lead again in the second game against Lock Haven, scoring four runs in the second. Bald Eagle pitchers hit two batters and put three others on via the walk, including a bases-loaded walk drawn by Bryce Muth. Michael Dunkailo plated the first run of the game with a single, and Schlegel (fielders choice) and O'Malley (sacrifice fly) also picked up RBIs.

Lock Haven scored once in the third and put up four runs in the fourth, taking advantage of four ESU errors, to go ahead 5-4.

ESU tied the score in the seventh with a two-out, pinch-hit double by John Pisker that scored Chris Zsenak, who singled with one out and moved up on a wild pitch.

The game was still tied at 5-5 going into extra innings, which were played using the international tiebreaker (placing a runner on second). Clemens had a hustling double to put runners on second and third before Pisker was caught in a rundown at the plate after a failed squeeze attempt for the second out of the inning.

Schlegel followed with a strikeout that would have ended the inning, but the ball got past the catcher and Clemens scored to put ESU ahead 6-5, with Schlegel reaching second on the play. Bortz came through with an RBI single to extend the lead to 7-5 before Lock Haven got out of the inning.

Clemens went to the mound for the 10th but got into trouble after a first-pitch out, hitting the next batter and giving up a single to load the bases. Mike Drawbaugh doubled to score two runs to tie the game at 7-7, and Matt McCamley plated the winning run with a suicide squeeze to give the Bald Eagles their first win of the year.

ESU's pitching was the bright spot in both games. Jason Colletti pitched the first five innings against Lock Haven and allowed only one earned run. Freshman Tom Admire threw the next four innings and didn't surrender a hit or a walk while striking out three batters.

The Warriors will play their final two games in Virginia tomorrow, taking on Kutztown at 9 a.m. and the Apprentice School at noon.
