WEST CHESTER – Senior
Larry Pokrywa made seven saves and his counterpart Garrett Bleiler had six stops as East Stroudsburg University and West Chester played to a scoreless tie in PSAC East men's soccer on Saturday afternoon.
West Chester had a 21-17 advantage in shots, while ESU had the only shot that required a save in the overtime period. The Warriors' last 0-0 tie came against California during the 2004 season.
Pokrywa has three shutouts this season and 25 in his career, tying him with Jason Land and John Lonergan for third in school history. Jason Petronis holds the school record with 33 from 1992-95 and Bill Sterner had 27 shutouts a decade later.
ESU will take a 4-3-1 (1-1-1 PSAC East) record into Tuesday's conference match-up against Bloomsburg at 5 p.m. at Eiler-Martin Stadium.
