SHIPPENSBURG – Freshman forward
Terrance King scored 18 points in his first career start to lead five players in double figures as East Stroudsburg University posted a 101-52 win over Mercy College (N.Y.) on Friday on the first night of the Wolf's Bus Lines Classic at Shippensburg's Heiges Fieldhouse.
King was 7-for-9 from the field and had seven rebounds and two blocked shots, and junior forward
Mike Tobin had 12 points and tied his career-high with nine boards to lead the Warriors' starters. Three players reached double figures off the bench – freshmen forwards

ESU shot 65.6 percent from the field, its highest percentage in eight seasons under head coach
Jeff Wilson. Brown hit seven of his eight shots after going 6-for-9 and scoring 14 points in a 97-48 win over PSU-Schuylkill in the season opener. Johnson also had 14 points on Sunday and was named the PSAC East Freshman of the Week, and followed up with a 6-for-11 performance vs. Mercy. Both freshmen also had five rebounds.
The Warriors' previous high mark was a 65.3 percentage in an 83-71 win at California during the 2007-08 season. They also put five players in double figures for the first time since finishing 2007-08 with a two-point loss at Cheyney in the PSAC playoffs.
Covert had 13 points in the first half and the Warriors used a 29-3 run over a nine-minute stretch to take a lead 56-24 into intermission. King scored 10 points after the break and Brown and Johnson had eight each.
Senior guard
Robby Pines ran the offense with eight points, four rebounds, six assists and three steals in 25 minutes, and Covert added three rebounds and four assists from the point guard spot.
The Warriors held a 53-20 advantage in rebounds and held Mercy to 25.4 percent from the field. Jimmy Gunville scored 12 points and Hassan Powell and Ed Wilson both had 11 for the Flyers.
ESU takes on PSU-Allegheny in the tournament's second night of action on Saturday at 5 p.m.
