EAST STROUDSBURG – Senior guard
Andy Heimbach scored 20 points and was 6-for-7 from the three-point line and East Stroudsburg University (5-0) put four players in double figures in a 93-71 win over Queens (N.Y.) on Friday night in the 45th Annual Pocono Classic presented by the Lehigh Valley International Airport.
Heimbach nearly repeated his record-setting and Pocono Classic MVP performance against Queens in the tournament two years ago, when he was 7-for-7 from long distance and scored 23 points against the Knights. He missed his first three of the game, then hit four in the final 6:30 of the first half as the Warriors broke open a five-point game (23-18) to go ahead 49-36 at the break.
Senior guard
Robby Pines had eight points, seven rebounds and 10 assists, one off his career-high, and the Warriors recorded assists on 24 of their 31 field goals. ESU shot 67 percent (10-for-15) from the three-point line and 59.6 percent (31-for-52) overall for the contest.

Mike DeMarco (12 points), freshman forward
Duane Johnson (12) and junior guard
Micah Covert (11) also hit double figures and Covert had five assists. Sophomore forward
Eric Bryan was 4-for-5 from the field for a career-high eight points.
Junior forward
Mike Tobin set his career-high with 13 rebounds and ESU held a 43-27 advantage on the boards. The Warriors also blocked nine shots, including four by freshman forward
Terrance King (eight points, three rebounds).
ESU fell behind 10-4 in the first five minutes before responding with an 11-1 run, capped by a three-pointer by freshman guard
Gerald Bridges. Queens narrowed the margin to 17-16 when Akim Neverson hit a triple with nine minutes left, but DeMarco and Johnson both hit jumpers and freshman forward
Marcus Brown dunked off a pass from Covert as the Warriors reestablished control.
Heimbach took over from there, drilling his first three with 6:30 on the clock and hitting again at the 4:52, 3:48 and 2:20 marks to put 12 points on the board in just over four minutes.
The Warriors led by at least eight throughout the second half and the final margin was their largest of the game. ESU put 10 players in the scoring column, all in the first half, and Heimbach took a team-high nine shots.
Khalil McDonald led Queens with 17 points (7-for-11) and Khaleef Allicott had 16 but was just 6-for-17 from the floor. The Knights shot just under 40 percent and were 5-for-13 from long range.
ESU wraps up the Pocono Classic on Saturday with a 5 p.m. tip-off against UDC. Slippery Rock posted a 78-63 win over UDC in the first game of the day on Friday, led by 18 points and 14 rebounds from Jabril Bailey.
The Warriors women's team opens Saturday's action at 1 p.m. vs. Salem International, which fell 71-34 to Shippensburg on Friday afternoon.
