HAMPTON, Va. - Lock Haven scored all of its runs over the final six innings to hand East Stroudsburg University a 17-10 loss in the third-place game of the Builder Invitational hosted by the Apprentice School on Sunday.

The Warriors pounded out 15 hits, led by a 4-for-4 game from junior outfielder John Pisker and home runs by senior outfielders Kevin Thompson and Mike Bortz, but were unable to shut down a Lock Haven team they beat 16-5 on Friday.

ESU took a 4-0 lead through three innings with a pair of runs in the second and third. Thompson hit his second homer of the season to lead off the second and Pisker singled and scored on an RBI single by freshman outfielder Carey Zimmerman, who was 3-for-5 with three RBI.

Thompson and Pisker were in the middle of things again in the third. Senior 1B Mark Angelo singled and stole second, Thompson walked and Angelo eventually scored on a passed ball. Pisker followed with a base hit that scored Thompson for the first of his three RBI's. Thompson was 2-for-3 and scored four runs.

Lock Haven tied the game at 4-4 with a two-out grand slam in the top of the fourth before both teams put up four runs in the fifth. In ESU's half, Zimmerman's two-run double was the key hit after Angelo, Thompson and Pisker all singled earlier in the inning.

ESU gave up two more runs and trailed 10-8 going into the bottom of the sixth and got one run back when Pisker's double brought Thompson home. Neither team scored in the seventh, the first scoreless inning since the first, before the Bald Eagles got a pair in the eighth and five in the ninth to open a 17-9 advantage. Bortz hit his first home run of the year in the bottom of the ninth.

The Warriors will take a 5-3 record into their spring break trip to Fort Pierce, Fla. from February 28 through March 6. ESU will play nine games over seven days.
