Box Score
EAST STROUDSBURG – Patrick Conley scored the game's only goal after Iain Langstone hit the post on a penalty kick with 26 seconds left as East Stroudsburg University suffered its second straight 1-0 loss at the hands of No. 13 Slippery Rock on Saturday at Eiler-Martin Stadium.
The Warriors haven't allowed a goal from the field in their last four games but were beaten by a penalty kick for the second time in five days. Bloomsburg scored from the penalty spot 5:24 into overtime to knock off ESU on Tuesday.
Conley's goal gave Slippery Rock a 17-16 edge in shots in a very evenly played game over the first 70 minutes, until ESU had a player sent off and was down to 10 men for the remainder of the day.
Greg Blum made six saves to earn the shutout for Slippery Rock, while ESU senior
Larry Pokrywa had seven saves in goal for the Warriors.
Slippery Rock improves to 9-1 on the season while ESU falls to 4-5-1 overall. The Rock also defeated ESU 1-0 in their last meeting in the first round of last year's NCAA Division II playoffs on an overtime goal by Jeremy Deighton.
ESU opens the second half of PSAC East divisional play on Wednesday at Millersville.
