EAST STROUDSBURG – Jorge Zapata scored the game-winning goal with just 2:22 remaining as Wilmington knocked off East Stroudsburg University, 1-0, in non-conference men's soccer on Tuesday night at Eiler-Martin Stadium.

Zapata scored off a free kick taken by Nickalus McDonald, and Duhan Malali made seven saves to secure the shutout for Wilmington (5-7-1), which earned a one-goal win over the Warriors for the second straight season.

ESU posted a 19-12 advantage in shots but was unable to find the net despite several solid scoring chances. Senior goalkeeper Troy Hernandez made three saves and sophomore back Steve Sollecito cleared a ball off the goal line on a shot by Zapata in the first half.

The Warriors (9-4) were ranked No. 4 in the Atlantic Region in this week's NCAA Division II rankings and return to action on Saturday with the second of five straight non-conference games, hosting Caldwell at 1 p.m.
