THE MATCH-UP: East Stroudsburg University travels to Millersville looking to end its six-game losing streak, just the fourth such streak in school history. The Warriors entered the season ranked in both the AFCA and D2football.com Top 25 coming off last year's NCAA Playoff appearance, but have lost their last six games after a season-opening win at Pace while playing the 10th-toughest schedule in Division II.

DEMANDING SCHEDULE: The Warriors' last six opponents have a combined record of 32-10 and include the top four teams in the PSAC East standings, along with undefeated and No. 3-ranked California. Including Pace (0-6), ESU's first seven opponents have a .650 winning percentage (26-14 - doesn't include games vs. ESU). Conversely, ESU's strength of schedule of its last four opponents is the 10th-easiest of 136 schools (.286, 8-20) — Millersville (2-5), Cheyney (1-6), Shippensburg (1-6) and Edinboro (4-3).

SIX STRAIGHT: The Warriors' 1985-87 teams all had six-game losing streaks, going 7-23 over the three-year stretch. The 1985 and 1986 teams both lost their first seven games, while the 1987 team won its season opener before dropping six straight. Before the current stretch, ESU's longest losing streak since 2001 was three games during a 3-6 campaign in 2007.

THE SERIES:
ESU has won eight of the last nine meetings with the Marauders, with the lone loss a 36-24 setback in the 2007 PSAC East opener at Eiler-Martin Stadium. The Warriors won last year's game 44-3 for the largest margin of victory in 61 all-time meetings. Freshmen tailbacks Eric Deery and Kendrick Williams combined for 198 rushing yards, Matt Marshall threw three TD passes and the defense held Millersville under 250 yards and forced four turnovers.

The schools have played every season since 1948 with the exception of a cancelled game in 1955, making it ESU's second-longest continuous series behind West Chester, which has continued uninterrupted since 1946. The Warriors hold a 36-24-1 advantage in the all-time series.

THE HEAD COACHES:
Denny Douds (Slippery Rock '63) holds the PSAC record for career wins with a 227-152-3 record in his 37th season as head football coach at ESU. He is in his 45th season at ESU overall and is one of five active coaches in Division II, and one of just 18 coaches in all of college football, with at least 200 career victories. He has led the Warriors to nine PSAC titles and four NCAA Playoff appearances. For more on Coach Douds and the ESU coaching staff, please see page 12 of the game notes.

Greg Colby (Illinois '75) is 6-24 in his third season as a collegiate head coach and his 37th year in the coaching profession, including 27 at the college level. Prior to arriving at Millersville, Colby was the defensive coordinator at Northwestern University for six years and helped the Wildcats make bowl appearances in 2003 and 2005. He has also coached at Kent State, Michigan State and Illinois and won two state titles at the high school level.

LAST TIME OUT: Eric Anderwkavich threw for 205 yards and three TDs and had another 59 yards on the ground to lead C.W. Post to a 28-17 win over ESU on Saturday. The Warriors held the third-ranked rushing offense in the PSAC to 135 yards and limited tailback Thomas Beverly to 23 yards on 10 carries, but Anderwkavich had a pair of touchdown passes to Darnel Williams (five catches, 104 yards) and Donovan Edwards wrapped up the win with a 68-yard interception return for a touchdown with just over two minutes left in the game as ESU was driving towards the go-ahead score.

Entering the season, the Warriors returned 4 of their 5 starters on the offensive line from 2009, all underclassmen. LT Morgan Thomas was 1st team All-PSAC East and 2nd team All-Region last year after starting 42 career games.
