Box Score

NYACK, N.Y. – Junior forward Greg Schook's goal midway through the second half was only enough to bring East Stroudsburg University halfway back from an early two-goal deficit as Nyack posted a 2-1 win in non-conference men's soccer on Wednesday afternoon.

Nyack (6-9) used goals by Babajide Fabota in the sixth minute and Andriy Pozdniadkov in the 13th minute to take the lead, and ESU (10-5) found the net just once in the second half despite a 12-8 advantage in shots in the final 45 minutes.

Both teams lost players to red cards – ESU at the end of the first half, and Nyack just over 10 minutes into the second half. Schook's goal came in the 69th minute and was his fifth of the year, marking the second straight season he has scored five goals for the Warriors.

ESU senior goalkeeper Troy Hernandez made six saves, his third-most in 15 starts this season. Adrian Ibanez had five saves for Nyack.

ESU was ranked No. 5 in the NCAA Division II Atlantic Region this week and will play the fourth of five straight non-conference matches on Saturday with a trip to UDC in our nation's capital.
