EAST STROUDSBURG – East Stroudsburg University's 2010 baseball season will open one week later than anticipated after this week's weather system that moved through the Atlantic coastal region left unplayable field conditions at Elizabeth City State (N.C.).
The Warriors are slated to travel to Petersburg, Va. next weekend to take on Virginia State in a three-game set, with a doubleheader Saturday and a single game on Sunday. ESU opened its season with three wins at Virginia State a year ago on its way to setting the school record with 32 victories.
The remainder of ESU's February schedule includes a trip to the Ripken Baseball Academy in Aberdeen, Md. for four games against Gannon on February 20-21, and another trip back to Petersburg, Va. to take on Southern Connecticut State and UMass-Lowell in a pair of doubleheaders the following weekend.
