WEST CHESTER – No. 10 West Chester used a multi-run inning in each game to take a PSAC East baseball doubleheader from East Stroudsburg University on Saturday, winning the opener 5-2 and closing the day with a 9-5 victory in game two.
The Warriors (9-9, 0-4 PSAC East) and Golden Rams (21-3, 8-0) will play the final two games of the series on Sunday, once again at West Chester's Serpico Stadium.
In the first game, West Chester scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth after ESU tied the game at 2-2 in the top of the inning when freshman CF
Eric Boyer singled with two outs, stole second and scored on a base hit by sophomore 2B
Ryan Guarino.
The Golden Rams put their first three runners on base in the bottom of the inning and Kyle Orensky scored the go-ahead run on a wild pitch. Christian Cox drove in two runs with a double to right to give West Chester a 5-2 cushion.
Carmen Daddario threw a perfect seventh inning and picked up the win with 2.0 innings in relief of Jordan Lehman (5.0 IP, three hits, one run). Sophomore
Ryan Beck made the first conference start of his career and kept ESU in the game until the sixth when he was relieved by freshman
Colin Kelly.
In the nightcap, West Chester scored single runs in each of the first three innings and left the bases loaded in the first two frames before ESU made it 3-2 with a pair of runs in the fourth. Freshman RF

Jake Griesemer doubled to lead off the inning, and both scored on groundouts to pull the Warriors within a run.
West Chester put up six runs in the bottom of the fourth to take a 9-2 lead, triggered by a three-run homer by Kyle Orensky and a two-run single by Josh Heyne.
ESU scored three runs in the seventh to set the final score, as Boyer plated junior Jason Kelmer with a double and sophomore SS
Evan Gallagher had a two-run single to score Kelmer and sophomore
Carey Zimmerman, who entered as a pinch runner for junior C
Bryce Muth.
Kelmer threw the first 2.0 innings for ESU and was relieved by freshman
Mike Glassic (1.1 IP, six earned runs) and redshirt freshman
Kyle Evans (2.2 innings, one hit, 0 runs).
Dave Stieg threw a complete game for West Chester, yielding five runs on six hits.
Kelmer was 2-for-4 at the plate in the first game and went 1-for-3 in game two, and Boyer was 3-for-6 in the doubleheader.
