EAST STROUDSBURG – Senior Paul Wagner reached the NCAA Division II automatic qualifying standard in the hammer throw with a mark of 203-2 and East Stroudsburg University had 16 individual winners, along with all four relays, at the Fifth Annual All-American Meet on Saturday at Eiler-Martin Stadium.

Wagner moved from the provisional to automatic qualifying list after surpassing his previous season best of 193-7, set two weeks ago at Millersville, and the school and PSAC record of 196-9 which he established at last year's NCAA Championships to finish sixth in the nation.

He also won the shot put (47-7 3/4) and was second in the discus (141-9) and was one of four ESU athletes to win two individual titles on Saturday.

Senior Andrew McCloskey won the 100m (10.69) and 200m (21.94), running a season-best time in the 100 on a cool, overcast day. He also anchored the 4x100m relay team to a time of 41.71 seconds, along with junior Asher Ashfield, sophomore Ian Melhorn and senior Chris Reddick.

Seniors Trina Carito and Drew Miller both won the long jump and triple jump in their respective fields.

Carito's long jump of 17-8 1/4 was a season best and she had a mark of 36-2 1/4 in the triple jump. She also tied for second with a season best of 5-3 3/4 in the high jump one week after an NCAA provisional qualifying performance in the heptathlon at Bloomsburg.

Miller, a provisional qualifier in the triple jump, continued his strong outdoor season with a mark of 49-0 1/4 that was 1 1/2 inches off the Eiler-Martin Stadium record set by Lenny Jenkins in 1979. He posted an effort of 22-3 1/2 in the long jump.

Other individual winners for the Warriors included: senior Jasmine Johnson (400m, 57.90), freshman Rose Mascoli (5000m, 18:24.95), freshman Lauren Ventrella (100m hurdles, 15.08), junior Lynn Mayer (high jump, 5-5 3/4), Reddick (400m, 49.61), junior Chris Zadroga (mile, 4:33.93), junior Negus Graham (400m hurdles, 55.59) and freshman Kyle Soden (high jump, 6-6 3/4).

Johnson and Ventrella ran on both of the winning relays for ESU's women in times of 50.36 seconds in the 4x100 and 4:03.76 in the 4x400. Freshman Lauren Hannan and sophomore Adrienne Dieter also ran on the 4x100 and Carito and freshman Tara Getz were members of the 4x400 squad. Hannan clocked a season best of 12.98 to finish third in the open 100.

A pair of seniors placed second in their individual events with season best times. Niki Pasquarella broke 5:00 in the 1500m with a time of 4:59.78, and Emily Hollick ran the 400m hurdles in 1:07.24.

In the women's throws, junior Danielle Laws had a season best mark by 12 feet in the hammer to finish second at 153-1. Senior Amanda Sines was second in the shot put (39-5 1/4, season best) and third in the hammer (146-3).

On the men's side, Ashfield ran 10.91 in the 100 and Melhorn clocked a season best 21.97 in the 200 as both sprinters finished second behind McCloskey.

Senior Matthew Gallup was second in the pole vault at 15-7, while junior Bill Buis (183-0) was third in the javelin with his best throw of the year.

ESU's complete results from the meet are below. The Warriors will send selected athletes to the 116th annual Penn Relays at Franklin Field in Philadelphia to compete from Thursday through Saturday next week, along with a contingent that will attend the Lehigh Invitational.
