EAST STROUDSBURG – East Stroudsburg University's baseball program will hold Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Day and Alumni Day on Saturday at 1 p.m. when the Warriors host Shippensburg in the second half of this weekend's PSAC East series.

Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Day goes hand-in-hand with the Warriors' “Dollars for Doubles” campaign, which is raising money for the Allentown chapter of the national Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Crystal Martinez, a 14-year old student in the Pocono Mountain School District, will perform the national anthem before Saturday's doubleheader and information will be read between innings to educate and encourage donations to help fight this incurable, fatal genetic disorder.

For those who wish to donate to “Dollars for Doubles” and haven't done so already, please visit the "Dollars for Doubles" press release. Fans can pledge a flat amount, or an amount per double that the Warriors hit this season, with 50 percent of the proceeds benefitting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

The Warriors will also welcome their alumni back to campus with a barbecue in a tent beyond the fence in centerfield. Approximately 30-40 alumni are expected to attend, and any interested ESU alumni are encouraged to come out and participate in the festivities on Saturday.
