EAST STROUDSBURG – Redshirt senior midfielder
Danny Drago scored the game's only goal with 6:23 remaining as No. 17 East Stroudsburg University won its PSAC men's soccer opener vs. Lock Haven on Friday afternoon at Eiler-Martin Stadium.
ESU improves to 5-0 for the first time since the 2002 season and won its fifth straight game against Lock Haven, the last four by identical 1-0 scores. The Warriors hold a 41-27-6 advantage in the all-time series between the two schools which have combined for 39 of the 48 PSAC titles that have been awarded in men's soccer.

Shastri Spencer ripped two shots, the first saved by Lock Haven goalkeeper Zach Hubler and the second one blocked, and Hubler turned away sophomore back
Suane McLeish before Drago cleaned up the rebound for the game-winner.

Troy Hernandez made two saves to post his third shutout in five games this season for ESU. Hubler had eight saves for Lock Haven, and ESU had a 17-8 advantage in shots.
ESU's series with Lock Haven, which goes back to the 1940 season, includes 16 meetings in the PSAC championship game, with the Warriors winning 11 times. ESU won its last two PSAC titles against Lock Haven in 2006 and 2007, both by 1-0 scores in double overtime. The Bald Eagles hold a 20-19 edge in overall PSAC crowns.
The Warriors are back in action on Saturday with a top 20 showdown between ranked teams in the NSCAA Coaches Poll. ESU, ranked No. 17 in this week's poll, hosts No. 9 Slippery Rock at 3:30 p.m. The Rock (4-1-1, 2-1), the defending PSAC champion, was tripped up by Bloomsburg, 1-0, on a penalty kick in the 88th minute on Friday afternoon.
